Different Bridal Styles at Zo & Willow

Zo & Willow knows that today's bride isn't predictable, nor is she confined to one tradition, creed, or style. Whatever your style, whatever your personality, our goal is to set a new tone in bridal offering women something more bespoke than the mainstream bridal aesthetic.  We meet so many cool & diverse women every week and we thought it would be fun to tell you about some of the signature styles that our brides are attracted to!

1. THE MINIMALIST

Who is she:  Modern lady who loves the less-is more aesthetic.

As some brides make efforts to go grand, opting for all-over lace, embellishments, lengthy trains, and so much more, many of Zo & Willow brides are minimalists—to the max!  That means no lace, no beading, and no excessive draping or volume. This bride is the no fuss, no frills bride who loves clean lines, sleek shapes, and architectural elements. This look is all about the cut, and when it comes to fit, this look requires impeccable tailoring.

What will she wear: Silk slip dresses, sleek cape over a simple slip dress, crepe sheath dress.

2. THE MODERN ROMANTIC

Who is she:  Dreamer & romantic

Rather than sleek and sharp shapes, Our romantic bride will choose delicate draping, floral motifs, flowy fabric that feels both artful and easy. From shorter puff-sleeved capes to longer sheer styles, this look exudes romance and fashion—without going costume.   This fabrication is light and easy in feel, giving a crisp yet textured look that complements beach destinations, garden parties, and a vineyard's lush surroundings alike.

What might she wear:   3d flowers, flowing chiffon or a statement blouson sleeves.

3. THE ANTI BRIDE

Who is she: She's our badass bride who goes against all of the typical wedding conventions

If you’re the kind of woman who doesn’t wear dresses in your “real life,” why wear one to your wedding?  Zo & Willow has many brides that are screaming out for alternative styles to dresses.  They will choose a tailored suit, jumpsuit or two piece style that can be worn again post wedding.   This season at Zo & Willow there are more options than ever for those brides: ’70s-inspired jumpsuits by Halfpenny London,  capes by Beba & lace-trimmed jumpsuits with built-in trains by Rime Arodaky.

Feature here is the Peter Cape by Halfpenny London

4. VINTAGE LOVER

Who is she:  Lover of vintage finds and old world fabrics.

What might she wear:   Cotton lace top paired with a light silk skirt.

Totally in love with times of a distant past, this bride is inspired by old world literature and the french Nouvelle Vague Cinema, channelling icons of hers such as Gainsbourg and Godard.  Her wedding dresses will be ethereal with that cool indie vibe.

Dresses featured here are the Dolan dress and Abbess dress by Laure de Sagazan.

5. THE MODERN TRADITIONALIST

Who is she:   Classy and eternally timeless but likes a twist on the traditional ball gown.

For many of our brides the classic, full-skirted gown is a quintessential silhouette in the bridal world however many find the classic ball gown too predictable, too heavy, too stuffy.  This season Classic bridal archetypes are getting an overhaul. 2020 is all about flairs for the dramatic, the grand with designers creating new renditions of the classic ball gown.   New twists on strapless gowns, metallics, removable ball skirts—

This bride will wear a big full skirt as she walks down the aisle, followed by a glamorous and simple fitted dress for the reception.

Bridal trends like  removable skirts feels undeniably fresh & a beautiful alternative to the traditional bridal gown
